WE NEED YOU !

At the moment, we are still an ad-hoc group, in our infancy.  We need a few good people with specific skills, to contribute a bit of time and effort to help us reach critical mass.  Please take a look below, and see how you might be able to help

WEBMASTER & SOCIAL MEDIA

We are actively seeking a volunteer or two, with appropriate talents, to act as webmaster(s) and/or social media administrator(s) for our site.  We would like to expand the site to be a much more informative resource for residents.  If you are interested, please contact us and let us know.

LAWYER

As we progress and expand, it is likely that we will need to formalize a charter and become registered as a non-profit group - a daunting task for people who are not familiar with the process.  This will likely involve some significant legal fees, unless we are fortunate enough to have someone in the legal profession volunteer for some pro bono work.  Or, perhaps you might be willing to at least provide us with some guidance from time to time.  If you are able to assist us, please contact us.

EXPENSES

We will also be seeking donations/contributions, to help offset some of the "hard costs" of operating, and to help us fund information campaigns (mail-outs, etc.).  Please understand that we intend to be a volunteer, not-for-profit group (no salaries); we are only looking to cover costs.

At the moment, we are just paying for things out of our own pockets.  One of our short term goals is to get a bank account set up as well as a PayPal account, so we will be able to conveniently accept contributions from other concerned citizens.

Check back from time to time for updates.

(Of course, if you're able to help us with the set-up or administration of this, we'd love to hear from you!)

ATTENDING MEETINGS

If you can spare a small amount of time each month, to attend just one Township meeting a month (a Council meeting, or a Committee meeting, etc.), we definitely need that - especially if you happen to have good note-taking skills.  We need to be able to accurately record and share what happens at meetings, since the official Council minutes are often too vague to be informative or meaningful to anyone who wasn't actually there.

One of our primary purposes is to stay well informed about what Council is doing, so we can help ensure they are making appropriate decisions in managing our collective affairs.  The clearest, most effective message you can send to Council, is to attend their meetings.  So long as the public gallery is empty, they will get the impression that no one cares.

It would be hypocritical to hold Council responsible for the outcome of all things if we are perpetually absent from the process, ourselves.

Typically, Council meetings are held on Mondays.  [Click] to open the Township's official calendar in a new window.
